I'm the birthday girl

It's my birthday today. Yay me!

Here is a picture of one of the things that Zenon got me:

He also got me a lovely tea set that I can't wait to use. I'm waiting until we move into a larger place before I break them out. I'll try to take pictures soon.

The most exciting news from today is non-birthday-related. We picked up our new truck tonight. It is a 2006 Toyota Tacoma - black. Zenon is eager to take pictures of his new baby, so I'll post some soon.

Besides that, my birthday has been a bit anti-climactic. I opened my presents last week, had cake two weeks ago from work, and we did birthday dinner on Saturday (see below). I will say that Zenon bought me an ice cream cake that I will probably crack into before too long. And, the birthday cards and greetings that I had to open today were very heartwarming. So, all in all, not a bad day, especially considering that I had to work today.

In unrelated news, I love to crochet. That is all.

We are a cute couple

Ok, it's not technically my birthday yet, but my birthday falls on a Tuesday this year, so, we went out for fancy birthday dinner tonight at the Keg. We got all dressed up and blinged out and ate a delicious meal. Here are pictures:

This is me, all dolled up. I'm wearing the birthday jewellery that Zenon got me last year.

This is Zenon, looking good. He is so photogenic. Either that, or I'm just a better photographer :).

Birthdays are fun.

Vacation Good Times

Sorry for the long absence, everybody. As you can probably guess, I've been pretty busy. I was home in Ontario for 2 weeks. Here are some highlights of what I did:
- Saw this play at Stratford
- Attended Anie's birthday party
- Met my cousin's baby Adele
- Met Meg's baby Jack
- Went shopping in Toronto
- Coffee dates in Waterloo with Nad and Anna
- The Jane Bond with Ashley
- Oxford Drive-in
- A "jama" party with ice cream and Anie, followed by morning crafts
- Dinner in Stratford with Gillian

All in all, you could say that a good time was had by all. Well, perhaps not my Dad who had his surgery during my first week. But he bounced back pretty quickly and is doing well. His main problem is slowing down enough to recover.

It was a good holiday in that by the end, I was feeling relaxed and like myself again. It was very hard to come back to the frontier. But, I had promised Zenon that I would come back to him, so I did. Now he has abandoned me and gone to Nova Scotia for his holiday. Brad is also gone, so the apartment has been very quiet. I was home sick from work today, so perhaps it was good that everyone was in Nova Scotia. I'm surprisingly lonely, though. I got so burned out on social interaction while in Ontario that I thought that I'd enjoy the quiet time, but I feel a bit abandoned. However, Zenon says that he is buying me presents in Nova Scotia, so I am a bit mollified. I like presents.

I also like cake, and I have some in my fridge to eat. Yummy! Off I go.
